NITRATES POLICY
 

Abruzzo Region -as other Regions- started the necessary activities to cope with the problems linked to water stratums pollution deriving from nitrates used in agriculture. In Abruzzi we individuated two vulnerable areas: Vibrata and Vomano plains. In order to enforce nitrates policy, which requires a more conscientious behaviour, the farmers in those areas must respect and act series of fulfilments and documents concerning fertilizers and zootechnical wastes management.
In the enforcement program approved by Abruzzo Region (deliberation  n. 899, Sept. 7th 2007) there is also an information activity concerning the farmers preceding the communication phase and PUA introduction (Agronomic Utilization Plan). Such activity was assigned to CO.T.IR., besides the farmers training.
